The system arrangement matters as much as the brand. These are the three main gas-boiler categories; fuel compatibility and the complete installation specification are confirmed during your assessment.

Mains gas, oil and LPG require different appliance and supply checks. Explore gas installation assessment, oil installation assessment or LPG installation assessment. Our Navien range includes separate oil models and gas models with documented LPG conversion support; compatibility is confirmed for the exact configuration. You can also explore air source heat pump assessment as a distinct heating technology.

Combi boilers

Heating and hot water from one appliance

Heating and hot water from one appliance, usually without a separate hot-water cylinder. A combi can save space, but incoming water pressure, flow and simultaneous shower use matter.

System boilers

Stored hot water for homes requiring greater hot-water capacity

A boiler working with a separate hot-water cylinder. Stored hot water can help households with several bathrooms; cylinder capacity, recovery time and available space still need assessment.

Heat-only / regular boilers

A traditional stored-hot-water heating arrangement

A boiler used with a separate cylinder and external system components. Often considered when replacing an existing regular boiler; the cylinder, pumps, tanks and pipework must be checked together.

Helpful answers

New boiler questions, answered.

What size boiler do I need?

The heating output depends on your home's heat loss. Hot-water demand, water-supply performance and the system design also affect the choice. Bedroom count alone is not enough; an assessment establishes a suitable specification.

Should I choose a combi or system boiler?

A combi may suit a home with limited space and suitable water-supply performance. A system boiler with a cylinder may better support stored hot water for several bathrooms. We assess your household's demand and existing system before recommending either.

How much does a new boiler cost?

Installation starts from £1,790 inc. VAT for a qualifying straightforward replacement: one bathroom, fewer than 10 radiators and a standard horizontal flue. The starting package has a 5-year manufacturer warranty. Your final price is subject to survey, boiler specification, controls, system condition and installation requirements.

How long does a boiler installation take?

A straightforward replacement can often be completed in a day. A conversion, relocation or wider heating upgrade may take longer. We confirm the expected schedule and any interruption to heating or hot water after assessing the work.

What boiler warranties are available?

Warranty options typically range from 5 to 12 years, depending on the boiler, manufacturer and applicable terms. Registration, servicing and installation conditions may apply. We confirm the warranty for the proposed model in your quotation.

Is finance available?

0% finance options are available over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months through Humm Group Limited, subject to application, affordability, eligibility, approval and provider terms. Any applicable deposit, fees and repayment conditions are confirmed during your enquiry/application. Acceptance is not guaranteed.

Do you remove the old boiler?

Removal and disposal of the appliance being replaced are normally discussed as part of the installation scope. We confirm what is included in your quotation; cylinder, tank or other system removals may need separate work.

Do I need a home survey before choosing a boiler?

A property and system assessment is needed before we confirm suitability and a final quotation. Photographs and an initial discussion can help us prepare. We explain whether a home visit is required to check supply, pipework, flue, access and system condition.
